SS16 Make Up Trends - 'Into the Blue'

'Into the blue is the biggest trend to hit SS16 Catwalks'

Blue is the main colour for this years SS16 catwalk. It is a statment trend that has hit all deisgners....bringing back the 60's. The colours range from turquoise, sapphire and cobalt blue, making the eyes pop as a bright feature. It takes a step into a modern twist of the beloved 60's. Many of the make up designers have opted for a 'messy' make up look, featuring uneven eyeshadow, light washes of colour and bold lashes.

Missoni -

Lucia pieroni head make up artist created this "Sport-Tribal" look for Missoni in various colours, such as cyan-blue, white, turquoise and another ss16 trend primary bright yellow. This was pair with wet-look hair which was done with gel and mousse with hairspray by Anthony Turner.

Issey Miyake -

Alex Box sent the models down the catwalk with a very edgy styled eye make up. It was done in a customised way making each model very different to eachother. Instead of the usual use of a make up brush in order to apply the make up, a straw was used...not very conventional. Box, used the straw to blow air across the eyes to make a splattered paint effect.

Chanel -

Chanel opted for the trend differently by featuring 'a mask' to suit the models face shape. The insporation somehow came from the airport themed catwalk background, which encorporated a bag drop off, passengers and flight attendents. The clothing took inspiration from inside the aircraft including seatbelts and airplane pins which brought the look together.
