In this lesson we were challenged to recreate Phyllis Cohens Paper face lace in eyeliner. We were allowed to do whatever design we felt was best to reflect our skill. Holly started the deonstration by blocking out the eyebrow ready for the face lace to be drawn on.

Hollys demonstration:

Firstly she started off by blocking out the eyebrow this was done using pritt stick and full coverage foundtion. She then used MAC black acrylic paint and a 210 fine brush to start drawing out her design. After covering the brow in her free hand design she started on the underneath of the eye, pulling it down slightly so that the paint could dry without any creases. To finish off the entire face lace design she added a MAC 3D reflects glitter on top of the design so that the light would bounce off.

Products list:

- Pritt stick

- Dermapalette

- Mac full coverage foundation shade NC15

- Kryolan translucent powder

- Derma palette

- Contour powders 'shadowy'

- Mac Blacktrack eyeliner

- Mac 3D reflects glitter

Step by Step - My Recreation:

1. I prepped the models skin by cleansing, toning and moisturising as normal to remove any make up or oils that may interfere with the design.

2. Then using a glue stick i blocked out the eyebrows so that the hairs are flat to the face and have a clear surface to work on top of. I then packed on a full coverage foundation on top of the dry glue, then powdered to finish.

3. i then made up the face as usual by concealing, contouring and apply foundaiton to the face to act as a base.

4. Then using a fine nail art brush and MAC blacktrack gel eyeliner i started toi trace out my idea. I thought the examples on google were too complicated to copy myself so i freely desgined my own.

5. To finish the look i added a 3D glitter over the top to bring the design to life in the form of a lace overlay.

Evaluation:

In evaluation, i think the recreation of face lace was a success. I enjoyed the creative aspect of this and being able to have free reign of what we did. The only thing that i dont like about this was the fact i added a glittery pigment over the top of the design instead of a pure glitter. This gave the final outcome a smudgy look to it. But overall i think it demnstrated my skill of intiricate deisgns.
