Brow Bleaching and Blocking

In this lesson Holly demonstrated both a brow bleaching method and a complete block out of the brow.

Eyebrow Bleaching:

To bleach out the eyebrow without the use of bleach is relatively easy. It can be done by just using a thick concealer or cream foundation. By prepping the brow area correctly then the application process is straight forward. To bleach the eyebrow you need to coat a spoolie in the product a few shades warme than the actual brow to colour correct. Then brush the brows across the wrong way and then back again until the darkness of the brow is covered.

Evaluation:

I think my attempt at bleaching the brows with concealer went well i was able to lighten the eyebrow to a really light blonde shade. I think that it was easy to do as there wasnt many steps involved and the colour was easily buldable wihtout having to be clumpy. This was because the colour was able to coat the hairs and then be pulled through.

Brow Blocking:

The process to blocking out eyebrow hair with a pritt stick is very straughtforward but needs practice in order to make it the best it can be with all hairs flat down. Firstly remove the make up and any excess oil away from the brow. Then using a pritt stick run it upwards towards the forehead pushing firmly as you go upwards. do this across the entirity of the eyebrow. Then once dry add another layer so the hairs are fully covered with glue giving a flat surface with no hair texture. Then using D32 from the concealer palette start patting it straight onto the dry glue. This removes any grey undetones from the brow. Next add a cooncealer in the same shade as the models face, patting on with a latex wedge sponge. Powder over the top of each layer. Finally to finish off the blocked brow apply a full coverage foundation over the top to cover it completley and blend into the surrounding skin.

Evaluation:

In evalutaion, i think the eyebrow blocking went well. However, at the beginning i found it very difficult to push the glue up onto the brow hard enough without pulling the client. Because the glue wasnt sticking enough when i added the concealer and powder it looked clumpy as the eyebrow haor was still sticking through.
