Burberrys 'Bloomsburys' girl has a very different approach this Autumn/Winter 2014. The custom built set in Kensington Gardens is always set to be one of the most eagerly anticipated shows of London FAshion Week Year after Year. It has a sort of artistic individuality to it that is just beautiful for the catwalk. Almost like a sweet innocence. Christopher Bailey the CEO of Burberry was insprired by the Charleston Bloomsbury home, also the artist Vanessa Bell who paints free hand in a very free spirit sort of way. Almost giving a Bohemian effect. One of pieces and hand painted patterns seems to be the inspriaration behind Burberrys new collection.

The slouchy poncho knits were a deifning feature of the collection. Each models strong frame was covered with a knitted cape which gave the slouchy silhoutte feel. This look was to showcase 'English-Woven' cotton with silk dresses and hand painted decoration. The irregular hems were paired with scaarves that cinched in the waist. Classic Burberrry trench coats were more relaxed and worn with swirly artistic floral patterns. The colour palette was of elderberry, cameo pink, blackcurrant and bright olive. The key ready to wear piece was the personalised poncho cape, with each models initials embroided into it. This aspect can also be purchsed by the public, following the individuality theme.

The Make up look was a fresh pop of muted pink and purple. A dusky colour, which in turn wanted to be presented as a brush stroke of colour across the eye. This would make the look individual to the model. Almost wanting to look like the make up was done by each individual model, no shape just freehand application of the product. The aubergine shades were used to give a dark eye, with a light pastel liner in the waterline to give a fresh open eye. The skin was done in a way that still looked like skin, a fresh look. The hair was loosely curled then brushed out to give soft waves. A slight off centre parting was used to give a bit of dimension to the face.
