Ombre Lip - Step by step:

1. When creating an ombre lip use a lip pencil of your choice, correcting the lip shape so that they are symmetrical and even either side. Then fill the colour.

2. Choose another lip liner a few shades darker than the outside liner. Make sure the darkest colour is the outline. Retrace the outside of the lip line only to deepen the edges.

3. Using your fingers, dab a lighter shade lipstick into the centre of the lip.

4. Then using a matte pigment from MAC in 'Neo Orange' in the centre to give it a pop of colour.

5. correct any smudges and neaten up the corners for a precise finish. Use a light concealer and a flat square concealer brush.

5. To finish the look add a clear lipgloss over the top to give a shine.

Products Used:

- Dark lip pencil

- Medium coloured lipstick (similar shade)

- MAC 'neo-orange' pigment

- MAC clear lipglass

- Light shade lipstick

- MAC light concealer palette

In evaluation the ombre lip was very effective and quick to do. I was able to achieve this outcome by using minimal products but to a proffessional standard. One thing i found most effective when doing so is being versatile with the products. During Hollys demo of the ombre lip she used a MAC pigment to give the middle of the lip the strong pop of colour. Up until this point i would never had thought about using a pigment on the lips, however it worked perfectly. What i persistently find difficult when it comes to the lips is lining them. I never get enough control and shape doesnt come out perfectly. But this will come with practice and with any new attempts i will take my time and perfect it to the highest standard.

Glitter Lip - Step By Step

1. To start the glitter lip application it is advised to clean the area prior to starting. Apply a thin layer of powdered concealer to keep the mouth dry.

2. For this look we lined the lips with a black gel eyeliner from MAC called 'Black track'. Do not go beyond the natural lip line, unless correcting the shape.

3. Mix the glitter with an appropriate mixing medium.

4. Hold a tissue underneath the lower lip to stop fall out of product. With a flat brush, pat on the glitter starting from the outer edge and working your way out to the corner.

5. Repeat step 4 but for the top lip.

6. Add a clear lip gloss for extra shine and dimension.

Products Used:

- Powdered concealer

- MAC blacktrack gel eyeliner

- MAC mixing medium

- MAC clear lip glass

-MAC 3D effects glitter.

In evaluation, i believe that my recreation of the 'glitter lip' was partially a success. It was partially successful because i was able to finish the look. However, made many mistakes when doing so. If found it diffficult to fill the lips using the black gel liner as once its on it is very hard to move about as it dries quiclkly. Its a good product to use on eyes but wouldnt recommned to use it on the lips again. Another problem i faced was applying the glitter with the mixing medium. Because it was water based mixing medium when i applied it to the lips its took some of the product off. All in all i think i could improve my product knowledge, so that i can recreate the look to a better standard.
